Scientific Writer – Full time

We are currently looking for a Scientific Writers to support our consulting team in both full time and contract roles. Responsibilities could include (depending on the project): 

  • Conducting research and gathering, interpreting and organizing scientific and clinical data 
  • Researching and drafting therapeutic area dossiers that capture scientific data 
  • Being a client resource on scientific content 
  • Researching and summarizing scientific literature for clients and the internal team 

Qualifications and Skills 

  • A comprehensive understanding of the life sciences with the ability to utilize this knowledge across different therapeutic areas. A Masters or higher in Life Sciences is required. (MSc., PhD., PharmD, etc.) 
  • Able to analyze and communicate (written and verbal) scientific information across different therapeutic areas at level of detail for appropriate for the audience 
  • Able to work independently and as part of a project team to execute deliverables within stated timelines 
  • Proven writing skills with high attention to detail – both in a narrative style for reports as well as PowerPoint presentations 
  • Exemplary organization and time management skills 
  • Proficiency in MS office, excellence in PowerPoint 
  • Legally able to work in Canada

Science & Strategy Analyst

We are currently looking for a Science & Strategy Analyst to join our consulting team. This is an entry-level, full-time role supporting client project delivery. Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Conducting research and gathering, interpreting and organizing scientific and business intelligence data for strategy projects
  • Researching and drafting therapeutic area dossiers that capture scientific and business intelligence 
  • Managing preparation for facilitated client workshops 
  • Developing reports capturing the output of facilitated client workshops and interviews
  • Researching and summarizing scientific literature
  • Being a client resource on scientific content 

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • An advanced degree in Life Sciences is required (Msc., PhD., PharmD)
  • A comprehensive understanding of the life sciences with the ability to utilize this knowledge across different therapeutic areas
  • Able to analyze and communicate (written and verbal) scientific information across different therapeutic areas at level of detail appropriate for the audience
  • Able to work independently and as part of a project team to execute deliverables within stated timelines
  • A developing business strategy acumen, enabling input on the strategic elements of projects

Executive Assistant

Job Description

We are Sixsense Strategy Group (www.sixsenseinc.com), a boutique life sciences strategy consultancy based in downtown Toronto, just steps from the King St. subway station. Our clients include start-up, medium size and Fortune 500 life sciences companies. We work with heads of commercial and medical affairs who need strategic plans. Our strategy work has also included clients in government, industry associations and patient advocacy groups – all in the life sciences realm.

We have had the honour of working with a number of Canadian, US, European, and Asian based pharmaceutical and biotech clients including Allergan, Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Astellas, Biogen Idec, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Dyax, Ferring, GSK, Intercept, LEO Pharma, EMD Serono, Roche, Sage Therapeutics, Spark Therapeutics, Sobi, UCB, Vertex and many others.

We are looking to fill the role of Executive Assistant in our downtown Toronto headquarters. Reporting to our Business Operations Manager, the Executive Assistant is responsible for providing expert administrative and organizational support to the Managing Partners, the Business Operations Manager and all Sixsense employees. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Daily organization and management for two Managing Partners including scheduling, coordinating meetings, and calendar management

  • Provide occasional administrative support to the Sixsense team of consultants

  • Producing or enhancing client-directed documents including reports, PowerPoint presentations, flipcharts, and proposals – all meeting Sixsense’s quality standard for professionalism and creativity

  • Answer phones, greet and assist visitors

  • Coordinate and book travel for all Sixsense employees

  • Expense management for the two Managing Partners

  • Transcribe session notes from client meetings

  • Catering management and meeting setup for internal and client-related meetings

  • Manage mailing system including courier services

  • Provide support in the planning and development of internal and external meetings or events, activities and key initiatives such as roundtable sessions etc.

  • Occasionally, carry out personal errands for the Managing Partners

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would be someone who takes pride in being an Executive Assistant and wants that role as a professional career. Specific qualifications include the following:

  • College or University degree

  • 5+ years’ experience as an executive assistant working for a senior executive (VP or senior)

  • Superior knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

  • Ability to develop professional, graphically-pleasing presentations

  • Excellence in written communication

  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

  • Strong judgment and the ability to work independently taking initiative

  • Warm, friendly and engaging personality
